DU-TLS (Diesel United Timing Lubricating System)
ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED TIMING LUBRICATING SYSTEM

"DU-TLS" is the new cylinder lubricating system for low-speed two-stroke engines.

Existing systems provide lubricating oil by using the difference between the cylinder internal pressure and the lubrication pressure, regardless of the positions of the pistons.

"DU-TLS" is able to minimize the consumption of cylinder lubricating oil by means of electronically controlled feed timing with intermittent feed.


Features of DU-TLS


■Injection timing

Pressurized cylinder lubricating oil is fed quickly when piston rings pass through the lubricating
quill position. The position of the piston rings is detected by the crank angle sensor.


■Control method for oil feed rate

Total amount of cylinder lubricating oil is controlled by controlling the frequency of the intermittent injection, while the amount of cylinder lubricating oil per shot is fixed.


■Spread of Oil film

Cylinder lubricating oil, trapped between the piston rings and grooves, is spread on the cylinder liner wall as oil film by the stroke of the piston.


■Mode selection

The following modes are also selectable:
・Manual priming mode -during engine shutdown
・Turning mode -during engine turning


It is available to retrofit the conventional accumulated cylinder lubricating system with electronically controlled cylinder lubricating system (DU-TLS) without replacing the cylinder liners.
