Nowadays the lower speed and powered engines are requested by shipyards and ship-owners for the environment friendly vessels.
To meet such market requirements, the power rang of RT-flex50-B / 50-D to Handymax BC or others have been extended.
■ Key changes: power and engine speed at R4 level
Lower the speed of both type engines from 99min-1 to 95min-1.
Lower the power/cyl of RT-flex50-B from 1,160kW/cyl to 970kW/cyl.
Lower the power/cyl of RT-flex50-D from 1,220kW/cyl to 1,020kW/cyl.

Although 5RT-flex50-D or 6RT-flex48T-D type engine is the only choices as main engine for Handysize BC, 6RT-flex50-D can be applied in accordance with the extended power range.
