LNG is a super-low temperature -162°C liquid that is also a clean, high calorie energy source. When Tokyo Gas introduced LNG as an alternative energy source for oil for the first time in Japan in 1969, it selected IHI as a partner to construct an LNG tank. This exhibit presents the course of our successfully taking on the challenge of super-low temperature tank technology, thus marking the dawn of the LNG age.
