Feature:3 continuous and 1 single span 4 main truss bridge.
The main bridge-widening project, in which new trusses were combined with the existing over 70-year-old truss bridge. The stress on the existing trusses was monitored 24 hours a day to ensure stress intensification was under control.
IHI also took the unprecedented step of implementing “Span-by-Span Erection” to reduce the stress impact on existing structures and secure the navigation channel.

Feature:High-strength steel (780MPa) was selected for the main structural elements. The center part of the truss was erected by a large block (4,500 ton) erection method . The IHI group performed seismic reinforcement after the Great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake in 1995.
