On November 1, 2009, IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. (IIS) started business as a 100% subsidiary company of IHI Corporation, by succeeding the bridges, gates and other steel structures business units of IHI Corporation, Kurimoto, Ltd and Matsuo Bridge Co., Ltd.

The histories, technologies and human resources of the three companies are consolidated and upgraded as a unity. We are set to strive company-wide to deliver quality, safe and secure social capital to meet social needs, based on the IHI Group principles, “Contributing to the development of society through technology” and “Human resources is the only and the largest asset of the company.”

IIS further integrates specialized bridge and gate maintenance companies, namely IHI Structure Maintenance and Improvement Company (ISMIC) and Matsuo Engineering, to meet the growing importance and demand for the maintenance and improvement of the existing infrastructures.

We hope to extend our expertise in design, fabrication and construction accumulated through numerous bridge and gate projects in Japan for the development of global community.

With compliance in mind, we will strive for the realization of prosperity throughout the entire international society.
