Mobile Arctic Caisson named "MORIKPAQ", an Inuit language meaning great wave, was delivered to Beau-Drill Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of Gulf Canada Resources Inc., at IHI Aichi Works on April 16, 1984.

MORIKPAQ consists of a continuous steel annulus and has the capability of year round operation in the iced Arctic Ocean in water depth from 15m to 40m.
