Bairnsdale Power Station located at 300km east of Melbourne was built to assist the local transmission system in the Bairnsdale area, providing peaking capacity to the greater Victorian power market. The power station of total 92MW capacity comprises two IHI-LM6000PD gas turbine generators for which Dry Low Emission(DLE) combustor is integrated.

After completion of the plant, the owner decided to upgrade the LM6000PD with SPRINT(Spray INTercooling) configuration to enhance the power output during the summer season. They are the first LM6000PD SPRINT commissioned by IHI. IHI has successfully completed the power plat earlier than the contractual schedule
