Leaf Filter

IHI's fully automatic filter

This horizontal pressure leaf filter is constructed with a pressure-resistant vessel housing filter leaves arranged horizontally along the shaft. The motor drive rotates the shaft, and the cake formed on the filter leaves detaches due to centrifugal force and is automatically discharged downward from the lower section of the vessel. The filtering of residual liquid, which had long been a challenge with pressure filters, is also made possible with IHI's filter leaves equipped with a special mechanism that enables complete filtration of residual liquid. The entire slurry can be fully filtered in a single batch without leaving any residue.

Filtration and Drying Mechanism

The IHI-Leaf Filter CFR Type can also be used as a high-efficiency multi-tier dryer when equipped with a hot air generator or a vacuum generator.

The entire process, including filtration, drying, and cake discharge, can be fully automated.

The unique internal system utilizes all the leaves to ensure a complete filtration of the residual liquid.
3Cake washing and extraction capabilities
The filtration occurs on the upper surface of the horizonal filter leaves, preventing the cake layer from detaching. Effective cake washing and extraction is made possible by feeding washing fluid subsequently after the filtration process.

There is no need to handle solid products as you would in situations where filters and dryers are installed separately. Therefore, the work environment remains safe and clean even when treating toxins, solvents, and other hazardous materials.

The vertical design of the filter requires a smaller installation area compared to the parallel installation of a filter/centrifuge and dryer.

Cake Washing Mechanism

What is unique about the IHI-Leaf Filter is that the filtered cake becomes exceptionally stable thanks to the upper surface filtration through horizontal filter leaves. This special feature allows for the selection of various cake washing methods. Cake washing can increase yield and render cake non-toxic.

Washing Nozzle Inside the Filter (Optional)

A high-pressure spray nozzle is installed inside the filter to wash the surface of the filter medium. This helps to remove clogged material and prevent the progression of further blockage.
