Notice of Compensation to Customers for Fuel Costs Related to Our
Company’s Misconduct Involving Engine Test Operation Records

On April 24, 2024, our company publicly announced that misconduct had occurred regarding engine test operation records at our Niigata Engine Plant and Ohta Plant. Accordingly, we have been considering how to compensate customers who purchased engines that had fuel consumption rates different from those in the applicable specification, and today, we are announcing that compensation.

We are now preparing to start mailing notices from the middle of February 2025 to customers who are eligible for compensation. Eligible customers who do not receive a notice from us by the middle of March should contact us via the link below.

<Eligible Customers>
Customers who currently own a maritime vessel that they bought new with an engine installed that was subject to the test operation record misconduct at our Niigata Engine Plant or Ohta Plant from 2003 onwards, and that had a fuel consumption rate different from that stated in the applicable specification.
