22 sets of high speed diesel engine for propulsion ordered for
patrol
vessel of Japan Coast Guard
Niigata Powers Systems Co.,Ltd, (NPS)subsidiary of IHI announced it has
received an order for 22 sets of high speed diesel engine for propulsion
for patrol vessel of Japan Coast Guard. These engines will be complied
with IMO Tier2 that is required to reduce NOx by 15%-22% compared to the
current regulations.
At latest it is scheduled to complete by end of November 2011and its
total contractual price is 3.5 billion Japanese yen.
The feature of 16V20FX (3690kW, its product name is “Blue Arrow”) as
follows;
1. Compact and lightweight
By adapting FCD material for crank case and mounting intake manifold to
V bank of the crank case, steady body as well as light weight of engine
can be realized. Many components made in aluminum alloy also help it
reach light weight.
2. High power and high performance
Mounting highly efficient turbocharger and adapting direct injection
system lead to optimize of fuel injection system contribute high out put
and low fuel consumption.
3.Economy
Marine diesel oil as well as gas oil is available for the engine. Simple
design makes it possible for easy maintenance.
By this order, NPS reach 124 sets of high speed diesel engine in its
accumulated delivery number for Japan Cost Guard to since the first
delivery in 2001.One third of patrol vessel in Japan Cost Guard is
equipped with NPS made high speed diesel engine.
NPS continuously is dealing with the strict NOx regulations and to
supply the product and service to meet the latest demand from customers.
