New model, 28AGS series Eco-friendly gas engine have taken delivery to STX Heavy Industries in Korea
Recently, NIIGATA Power Systems Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as
“NIIGATA”) has taken delivery of its modern higher-performance,
spark-ignited, lean-burn technology eco-friendly medium-speed gas engine
model 18V28AGS (Vee-type, 18 cylinders, 6,000 kWe) to STX, a major heavy
industries company in Korea from Niigata Engine Plant (Niigata City,
Niigata Prefecture).
28AGS series gas engine (output: 1,900 kWe to 6,000 kWe) has introduced
to market in last year, and NIIGATA have received first order
immediately for four units of bare gas engine model 18V28AGS from STX at
end of last year. Those gas engines have packaged as generating sets and
shop tested at STX’s Changwon plant in Korea, and recently delivered to
the BHOLA power plant site (Location: Kheya Ghat, Bhola, Bangladesh) of
the SINHA Group in Bangladesh. Final commissioning of the power station
is due to take place at SINHA himself, but expected at end of 2013.
Feature of 28AGS series gas engines are not only high performance, high
efficiency, low emission but also realized quick load up time as about
40% time compare with existing NIIGATA models on 0% to 100% loading
condition. NOx emission value is 200 ppm of which meets the Air
Pollution Control Law in Japan (600 ppm). Constructions of 28AGS series
gas engines are adopted well-proven 28HLX series diesel engines of which
realize high durability and reliability. Furthermore, simplified
maintenance and inspection are also one of features.
In Bangladesh, industrialization has made remarkable progress in recent
years and the country now suffers from electrical power shortages as
industries grow. SINHA Group is one of the major industrial
conglomerates of Bangladesh. Core business is textile industries and
undertaking construction/real estate industry, agricultural/food
businesses, communication services, financial businesses, etc. In these
situations, SINHA Group wishes to come enter power generation business
for support demand of power for the country and recently owned four
diesel power stations. BOHLA power station is fifth power station,
required low emission, save fuel and save running cost. NIIGATA 18V28AGS
model of gas engines have selected due to meeting for BOHLA’s
requirement.
