Expansion of the Miyako Second Power Station of Okinawa

NIIGATA Power Systems Co., Ltd., (Niigata) has recently completed the
expansion and delivery of Unit 5 of the Miyako Second Power Station
ordered from the Okinawa Electric Power Co., Ltd. with no problem.
Unit 5 of the Miyako Second Power Station delivered this time is one of
the largest diesel power plants (power generation output: 15,000 kW) in
the country as a four-cycle engine that was designed to reinforce the
facilities of the system on Miyako Island to respond to increased
electric demand. Niigata was awarded this project as a prime contractor
in charge of the design, procurement, and construction under a
full-turnkey contract.
Niigata has a lot of records of the construction of power stations for
isolated islands, as well as diesel and gas power plants in the country
and overseas, and is highly trusted in terms of quality. Niigata will
also continue to develop aggressive sales activities to get contracts
for the construction of new power stations.
