Please tell us about your responsibilities and missions.

I am responsible for technical review and communication with customers in Europe and North America. Specifically about 3 items below are my missions.
1. Repeat simulation to achieve the target and propose specifications that can realize the customer's requirements.
2. Design and manufacture prototypes, and carry out varied evaluations at the customer and in-house.
3. Provide mass-produced products well-balanced between performance and cost through coordination with the mass production process.
In the highly competitive automotive industry, this is a very rewarding job that pursue how we can achieve performance "above" the customer's requirements at the cost "below" the customer's requirements and satisfy our customers and consumers and how much we can contribute to society in terms of improving the environment and fuel efficiency of automobiles.

What do you like about IHI's Turbocharger and why?

My first recommended point is "Wide Variety".
You can see IHI names on ultracompact turbochargers installed in the most familiar small cars, VGS turbochargers for heavy duty trucks supporting daily logistics, as well as high performance turbochargers for luxury sports cars that are rarely seen.
The second point is "Achieving both High Performance and High Reliability".
IHI turbochargers, manufactured with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to operate without trouble and serve you even in the automobile racings and commercial vehicles that require performance to be squeezed to the limit and not break down.

Please tell us about the appeal and best part of working for Turbocharger Unit.

I am always able to work from a broad perspective through collaboration with various customers, suppliers, and associates at the turbocharger production sites around the world. My intellectual curiosity is at all times stimulated by coming into contact with various cultures, business practices, and how cars are used. However, the most thrilling moment is when I drive the car equipped with the turbocharger and engine rotating exhilaratingly with my five senses. I feel that many kinds of events and hardship involved in the project are rewarded.
