Paul Wurth IHI Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “PWIHI”) is pleased to announce that it has completed a new construction of slag granulation system and INBA dewatering drum (comprising of filtering screens, distributor, slow down boxes, etc.) as part of the slag granulation plant upgrade project for JFE Chiba blast furnace No.6. The operation of the new slag granulation system with the new drum started in December 2016.

Slag granulation system produces granulated slag, which is mainly used as a raw material for cement and concrete aggregate, by quenching molten blast furnace slag with water.

Paul Wurth Group (hereinafter “PW”) has more than 260 references worldwide for the supply of slag granulation systems and INBA dewatering drums. Based on PW’s extensive experience in providing tailor-made services to meet the needs of global steel producers, PW engaged in basic engineering and manufacturing of the main equipment while PWIHI conducted the engineering and manufacturing of the auxiliary equipment for this project.
