IHI Gas Turbine Power Generation Systems

IM270

Powerful and clean original IHI gas turbines

Since completing development of the first jet engine produced in Japan in 1945, IHI, which has produced around five thousand such jet engines since then, has developed its original IM270 Low-emission Gas Turbine Engine using the knowledge and technology it has built up over the years through that work in jet engines and other related designs. The IM270 uses a Combined Heat and Power (Cogeneration) gas turbine with high reliability that is friendly to human and the environment and provides both high performance and low levels of NOx emissions.

Product Features

1. High Performance and High Energy Efficiency for Energy Saving The IM270 derives industrial compressor and automotive turbocharger technology and applies to this technology to its compressor section, and deprives aircraft engine technology and applies this technology to its axial-flow turbines.
These technologies contribute to improve overall system efficiency of the Combined Heat and Power (Cogeneration).
2. Excellent Environmental Performance Adoption of a low-emission burner allows the design to pass restrictions on emissions of NOx in exhaust gas by a wide margin.
3. Abundant Experience and High Reliability The IM270 uses a simple structure that requires fewer parts. IHI utilizes the aircraft engine technology and materials it has in the hot section of engines, which is subjected to a great deal of fatigue. This improves reliability and ensures that high levels of reliability are maintained.
4. Compact System Design IHI developed IHI unique and original GT package design "IPAC", in order to minimize the amount of space necessary for installation.
5. Minimal Levels of Vibration The gas turbine is a rotating motion machine so that the vibration of gas turbine is low level that can be easily counteracted with foundational work and temporary works for construction.
6. Low-noise Design for Low Impact on the Surrounding Environment The noise that the gas turbine makes during operation is emitted at high frequencies making it easier to implement anti-noise countermeasures than for reciprocating engines. (Standard design value: 85 dB at 1 meter from machine side)
7. Original IHI Variable Heat and Power Gas Turbine (IHI-FLECS) The lineup of products also includes IHI-original variable heat and power gas turbines that inject steam into the burner to improve power generating capabilities.
8. Ability to Support Dual Fuel and Normal-use and Emergency-use Usage Specifications The product lineup includes a Dual Fuel System that can use both gas fuels (city gas, natural gas) and liquid fuels (kerosene) by switching between them and can be used as a power supply for both normal and emergency use.
