Basic Power Systems Plant System

Generally speaking, the gas turbine power plant system developed by IHI can be categorized as one of three different types; Combined Heat and Power (Cogeneration), Combined Cycle and Simple Cycle.

Each power plant system model has different features and characteristics respectively, so that IHI offers customized and optimized gas turbine power plant system in order to meet a type of industry category and application for our customers.

 

1. Combined Cycle (C/C)

Combined cycle is an energy system which combined with gas turbine power plant system as brayton cycle and HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator) & steam turbine power plant system as rankine cycle.
Gas turbine power plant system consumes fossil fuels as energy resources, and generates electricity and high temperature exhaust gas. HRSG generates high-energy steam by recovering the gas turbine exhaust gas energy, and steam turbine power plant system consumes steam as energy resources.
Combined cycle is a gas turbine power plant system applied to maximize the electricity energy converted from fuel chemical energy to electricity energy.
This system can also be applied to Combined Heat and Power (Cogeneration) by discharging the a part of steam from steam flow line, in order to supply to customer facility for heat utilization.

2. Simple Cycle (S/C)

Simple cycle is an energy system for only power generation, known as gas turbine power plant system as brayton cycle.
This type of energy system is commonly applied to normal operation power generation system and emergency operation power generation system like as power generation system with relatively high efficient large-scale heavy-duty gas turbine and diesel engine.

3. Combined Heat and Power (CHP) (Cogeneration (COGEN))

Combined heat and power (cogeneration) is an energy system which combined with gas turbine power plant system as brayton cycle and HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator).
Gas turbine power plant system consumes fossil fuels as energy resources, and generates electricity and high temperature exhaust gas. HRSG generates steam by recovering the gas turbine exhaust gas energy, and supplies steam to customer facility as process steam for heat utilization.
