     The tank insulation is basically consists of PUF panels, which are fixed by studs at the center on the tank. Between panels so-called cushion joints are provided.  This soft cushion absorbs relative movements between tank and insulation and eliminate thermal stresses in the insulation.

     Being different from membrane system the insulation need not bear liquid pressure and material can be chosen so as to achieve the best insulating efficiency.
