Guinard Centrifuge

A centrifuge with exceptional dehydration capabilities

This Continuous Guinard Centrifuge is this stand type Guinard Continuous Centrifuge that feeds the slurry from the upper part of the machine. When centrifugal force is applied, the liquid contained in the slurry passes through the slits of the high-speed rotating screen to the outside and is then separated. The solid particles remain inside the screen and discharged to the lower section by the scraper installed inside the rotator. This vertical centrifuge features an effortless and efficient structure, and the well-balanced rotator minimizes vibrations and saves installation space.

Features

  • Enables continuous, automatic operation
  • Enables cleaning of separated solids
  • Low vibration and compact design
  • Easy maintenance
  • Exceptional dehydration capability
  • Enables separation and recovery of mother liquid and cleaning fluid
  • Completely airtight

Operating Principle

Structure

The Continuous Guinard Centrifuge features a cylindrical frame placed under a conical cover (upper and lower casings) that is designed with a Sludge Inlet and a separated liquid outlet.
A rotary conical basket is installed inside the casing, and a screen with numerous slits is set inside the basket. Furthermore, a scraper with spiral blades on the conical rotor rotates concentrically with the basket inside the screen. The screen and scraper maintain enough clearance while rotating in the same direction at a constant relative speed. This relative speed is controlled by the gearbox.
The entire motion described above is driven by a V-belt connected to a motor installed on a motor base that is integrated with the frame.
Slurry fed through the Sludge Inlet is distributed as a thin layer inside the conical screen. The solid particles are scraped out by the rotating scraper and dewatered as they move toward the bottom section. They are then discharged into the frame, and the separated fluid passes through the screen slits by centrifugal force and discharged from the separated liquid outlet. Moreover, when the separated solids require washing, the cleaning fluid is supplied through the cleaning liquid inlet.
