Noise Monitoring Systems

Coming from many sources in recent years, noise is a form of sensory pollution that is becoming a particularly serious problem in our daily life. Thus, in plants, construction sites and other noisy places, noise needs to be monitored and counteracted for the sake of the local residents. At INC, we provide systems to record noise, vibration and other data in remote areas over long periods to allow for realtime monitoring of local status.

We Meet the Following Demands

風車音監視システム概略

Monitoring Systems

Example: Wind turbine noise monitoring system

Feature 1: Capable of various measurements for noise, vibration and rotational speed

・Support data for up to 128 channels (32 standard)

Feature 2: Capable of long-term, multi-channel, high sample rate records

・Support 30-day continuous measurement with 16-channel, 24-hertz sampling (for 2 TB hard drive)

Feature 3: Capable of optimal measurement, communication, recording and monitoring for the site

・Offer selection of all-weather models, wired or wireless, webcams and more

Feature 4: Can get data with wind noise drastically reduced

・Use Kaze Conner-kun, an industry-government-academia joint-developed product (used only when measuring wind turbine noise)
・Improved precision for infrasound measurements

Wind turbine noise monitoring system overview

Kaze Conner-kun

A joint R&D product by the Ministry of Environment, Shizuoka University, INC Engineering and Aco; commissioned by the MOE as part of the 2011 Technological Development Projects for Global Warming Countermeasures. Unlike other applications, measuring noise for wind turbines requires wind speed to be above a certain level during measurement. Under these conditions, the target sounds get muffled by low-frequency wind noises1 and cannot be measured correctly.
While JIS C 1400-112 specifies installation methods and uses for windscreens, a windscreen does not sufficiently reduce low-frequency wind noises. Thus, the Kaze Conner-kun is required for accurate measurement under extreme wind conditions. (Reduces wind noise 20-30 dB in the 1-500 Hz range)

Notes:
1: Pressure fluctuation from wind. These noises are not airborne sound waves. Wind shakes the microphone diaphragm, raising noise levels as if there was a sound there.
2: JIS C 1400-11 (2005) “Wind Power Generation Systems, Section 11: Noise Measurement Methods" (IEC 61400-11 (2002))
