Orbital Sciences developed Cygnus Spacecraft which uses IHI Aerospace's Delta-Velocity Engine as its main engine successfully berthed to the International Space Station.

IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd announced that the Cygnus advanced maneuvering spacecraft developed by Orbital Sciences Corporation (Orbital) (NYSE: ORB), which uses IA’s Delta-Velocity Engine as its main propulsion system, successfully made its first berthing to the International Space Station (ISS) on September 29. The Delta-Velocity Engine demonstrated its cutting edge capability to maneuver the Cygnus spacecraft to achieve the successful berthing. 500N Delta-Velocity Engines, which were developed by IA, have the top level performance of [Isp - Specific Impulse] in the world. IA has exported its products to overseas satellite manufacturers such as Orbital. IA has verified the high performance and reliability of its products through consecutive successes.

The Launch of Epsilon-1

The first Epsilon Launch vehicle (Epsilon-1) was launched at 2:00PM on September 14, 2013 from the Uchinoura Space Center and jettisoned the Spectroscopic Planet Observatory for Recognition of Interaction of Atmosphere (SPRINT-A). IHI Aerospace was involved in the development, manufacturing, launch support at site of the Epsilon Launch Vehicle. We would like to express our profound appreciation for the cooperation and support of all related personnel and organizations that this success has proven the result of the rocket system technology developments that IHI Aerospace engaged on in the past.

Successful Launch of H-ⅡB Launch Vehicle No.4 and the Mission Completion of H-ⅡA Transfer vehicle "Kounotori 4"

H-ⅡB Launch Vehicle No.4 was launched at 4:48:46 AM on August 4, 2013 from the Tanegashima Space Center and H-ⅡA Transfer vehicle "Kounotori 4" was successfully injected into the orbit. IHI Aerospace was involved in the development and manufacturing of the H-ⅡB Launch Vehicle Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB-A), separation pyrotechnics, second stage reaction control gas jet system, and also performed launch support at site. Also, IHI Aerospace was involved in the development and manufacturing of HTV 4 propulsion system, exposed palette, supply rack, and i ball. HTV 4 has successfully accomplished the cargo transportation mission to the International Space Station and deorbited into the atmosphere at 3:37PM on September 7, 2013

Launch of H-ⅡA Launch Vehicle No. 22

The H-ⅡA launch vehicle No. 22 was launched on January 27, 2013, at 01:40 p.m. from the Tanegashima Space Center, and sent the Radar 4 information gathering satellite into its scheduled orbit. IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. was involved at every step in the development and manufacture of the H-ⅡA's solid rocket boosters (SRB-A), the pyrotechnics for the separation of rocket stages, and the second-stage reaction control gas jets, and also provided support for the liftoff at the launch site.
