IHI opened i-muse in 2006 to introduce its history of making things and taking on challenges to customers, local residents and younger generations. The history museum was refurbished and reopened in 2018.
We hope that exhibits at the museum will help visitors understand IHI’s past history in and present passion for manufacturing.

You come face to face with the history of the challenges faced by IHI, the history of our products and Toyosu area, in which our dockyards had been located, through digital monitors “Monoliths” which are 3m tall. The Monoliths themselves were created from the accumulation of IHI’ s history and products. Feel the wonder at encountering the cutting edge technology at each era through the Monoliths.
