IHIMU and EAS executed the Technical Consultancy Services Agreement
IHI MarineUnited Inc.(IHIMU,Minato-ku Tokyo Japan, president Shigemi Kurahara ) and Estaleiro Atl?ntico Sul(EAS, Brazil) have executed an agreement for technical consultancy services.
EAS is the largest scale and most advanced shipyard in Brazil, which have been operated from 2008 and delivered the first vessel for the shipyard (a suezmax tanker) in this May. EAS has other twenty one suezmax/aframax class tankers and seven drill ships on its order book.
EAS receives huge expectation from relevant industries in Brazil as it is the only one shipyard in Brazil who is able to construct large size vessels and offshore structures. EAS has been looking for a new technical partner to improve its shipyard management ability including productivity and construction planning, EAS approached to IHIMU, previous Shipbuilding & Offshore Division of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, to be the technical partner and executed the Technical Consultancy Services Agreement. From this July, technical assistance team of IHIMU will be dispatched to EAS and commence their missions.
With valuable experiences acquired thru management and operation of famous “ISHIBRAS” for Thirty Five years from 1959 to 1994, and utilizing advanced Japanese shipbuilding know-how, IHIMU have made contribution to development and expansion of Brazilian shipbuilding and offshore industry ever.
Having a new association this time, IHIMU is willing to further contribute growing Brazilian shipbuilding and offshore industry and is trying to establish concrete business basis in Brazil.
