IHI held Technology Forum in Brazil ~5th Ishikawajima Technology Forum~
Tokyo, August 31, 2015 – IHI Corporation (“IHI”) held “5th Ishikawajima Technology Forum” on August 27 (local time) at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. IHI, supported by Industry Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (known as “FIRJAN”), has held this event every year since 2011.
In this Forum, IHI group explained its technologies and products, such as surface engineering, cranes for offshore equipment, power generation driven by ocean energy from currents, temperature differences, to the Brazilian companies and technical institutes. In addition, the guest speakers from NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL CORPORATION, Petrobras, Vale and COPPE-UFRJ made presentations in relation to ocean technology and high performance materials. More than one hundred people attended this 5th Forum. Mr. Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, Consul General of Japan in Rio de Janeiro, also attended.
IHI group will continue contributing to industrial development in Brazil, taking advantage of emerging business opportunities created through this Forum.
