2025 New Year’s Greeting from President Hiroshi Ide(Summary)

On the morning of January 6th, the first day of work, Hiroshi Ide, President of IHI Corporation, delivered New Year's greetings to all IHI Group employees. The summary is as follows.
 
In this final year of Group Management Policies 2023, we will accelerate efforts to transform our business portfolio, restructure our balance sheet, and reshape our mindsets to position IHI Group for its next phase of growth. I would like to outline three key priorities to drive transformation in 2025.

1. Compliance As Our Cornerstone
It is essential for us to remain an enduring corporate group. As I stated during the general assemblies held last year at each IHI factory, office, and group company, compliance must be a core value for each and every one of us. I would like to once again emphasize that neither survival nor growth is possible without strict compliance.

2. Businesses Transformation for Sustainable Growth
Last year, we restructured and transferred business for further growth. We must transform how we operate and redefine our work processes to ensure sustainable growth for our businesses and the people involved in them. Direct your attention to both upstream and downstream aspects of your work, and reassess your work to focus on what truly matters.
To transform our businesses and operations, the company and individuals must create growth scenarios that break away from traditional approaches to address the rapidly changing business environment and societal demands. These scenarios should include items such as shaping the future of our businesses, strengthening financial foundations, developing talent, devising technical strategies, and driving technological innovation. Building on the transformational foundations established under Group Management Policies 2023, I will clearly lay out the IHI Group’s growth scenario in the next medium-term management plan.

3. DEI for a Thriving Organization
In 2024, we started several trial programs to lay the groundwork for our DEI journey. As I noted in last November’s IHI Group All Hands Meeting, the IHI Group has taken its first significant steps toward embedding DEI into its corporate culture. I will continue to lead these efforts so that everyone in the IHI Group can experience fulfillment and personal growth. Let us work together to create a workplace where we can all thrive by embracing our colleagues’ diverse backgrounds, listening with respect, and communicating with understanding.

Finally, I would like to touch on safety, which is the foundation of everything we do. We will all heighten our awareness of safety in 2025 and meaningfully improve our record in this vital area. Let us all work together to create safer and more secure workplaces where everyone can feel the joy of working.
