IHI Transport Machinery Co., Ltd. to Change Company Name to IHI Parking Square Co., Ltd. Effective April 1
IHI Transport Machinery Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Masao Akamatsu), a wholly owned subsidiary of IHI Corporation, is pleased to announce that it will change its company name as follows, effective April 1.
1. New Company Name : IHI Parking Square Co., Ltd.
2. Effective Date : April 1, 2026
3.Reason for the Change :
On July 1, 2025, IHI Transport Machinery implemented a company split in conjunction with the transfer of its material handling systems business, transforming itself into an organization dedicated exclusively to the parking systems business. To clearly demonstrate our commitment to continuous transformation and growth in addressing social challenges and creating new value in urban infrastructure and mobility sectors, we have decided to change our company name to “IHI Parking Square Co., Ltd.” effective April 1, 2026.
4. Meaning of the New Company Name :
The word “Square” represents more than just a geometric shape—it also evokes the image of an urban plaza, a place for gathering and interaction. Through our parking systems business, this name expresses our desire to maximize the use of limited space and time, and to contribute to the development of a sustainable society. Furthermore, “Square” also conveys the mathematical meaning of “multiplication”, symbolizing our intent to combine our strengths in engineering and space utilization to create innovative value and lead social transformation through synergy.
