IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. to Change Company Name to IHI Infra-square Co., Ltd. Effective April 1
IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sakai City, Osaka; President: Manabu Inoue), a wholly owned subsidiary of IHI Corporation, is pleased to announce that it will change its company name as follows, effective April 1.
- New Company Name : IHI Infra-square Co., Ltd.
- Effective Date : April 1, 2026
- Reason for the Change :
On November 1, 2025, IHI Infrastructure Systems completed a business integration through an absorption-type merger with its wholly owned subsidiary, IHI Construction Service Co., Ltd. This marked a new beginning for the company, which now handles the entire lifecycle of steel bridges, prestressed concrete bridges, water gates, and more.
To address increasingly complex and challenging issues more swiftly, we have decided to adopt a new company name that reflects our commitment to combining the strengths of both organizations. - Meaning of the New Company Name :
"Infra-square" represents the multiplication (squaring) of the strengths and histories of IHI Infrastructure Systems and IHI Construction Service in their respective fields. By integrating expertise in "bridges × water gates", "new construction × maintenance", and "domestic × international" operations, the new name embodies our intent to solve various social challenges and make even greater contributions globally.
As IHI Infra-square Co., Ltd., we will further combine our bridge and water gate technologies cultivated domestically with the long-span bridge technologies developed overseas. Through this fusion, we aim to establish a leading position in Japan’s bridge and water gate industry, and achieve further growth through a global growth cycle.
