IHI Hosts Piano Concert

IHI held a piano concert at the Toyosu Civic Center near its headquarters in Tokyo.

The company invited seven performers, including some living in Toyosu, to support emerging local talent and bring live entertainment to the community. It organized this event with the Piano Teachers’ National Association of Japan (PTNA) and pianists who had shone in the PTNA Piano Competition. The approximately 150 attendees, including local residents, IHI Group employees, and people from the association, made the event resoundingly successful.

Pianists performed on a handcrafted Fazioli piano, which has a permanent home at the center. These instruments have earned worldwide acclaim for their acoustics and attention to detail. The concert was in two parts. In the first, five players, from kindergarten through high school, residing in Toyosu who had done so solidly in the PTNA Piano Competition performed well-known pieces, creating great excitement. In the second part, two champions from the 2022 and 2023 competitions brought a brilliant dimension to the event with their performances.

The event delighted the attendees, who commented variously on the wonderful performances, the excellent venue and piano, and this rare opportunity for such a fulfilling experience. IHI will continue to deepen its community engagement through such initiatives and contribute to social progress.

Among the attendees were Hiroshi Ide, Representative Director and President of IHI (second from left in the back row), and Tsugio Mitsuoka, Representative Director and Chairman of the Board (third from left in the back row)
