This year, in conjunction with the festival, a neighborhood mikoshi (portable shrine) was displayed in the lobby on the first floor of IPS Head Office from April 20 to May 9. On May 9, a ceremony was held to transfer the divine spirit of the deity Myojin into the mikoshi of each neighborhood association. Many IPS employees carried mikoshi together with neighborhood association members. IPS President Hosaka concluded the procession with a rhythmic clapping ceremony in front of our Head Office.

On May 11, another procession called Mikoshi Miyairi was held. Approximately 200 mikoshi of various sizes from each neighborhood association were paraded through the streets of Kanda toward Kanda Shrine. IPS corporate officers helped carry the mikoshi in this procession, which is considered the climax of the Kanda Festival. Amid the cheers of tourists and local residents, our participation in the event deepened interactions between IPS and the community.

Participating in Neighborhood Cleanups

On June 6, IPS employees participated in the Kanda Dobocho Association's biannual neighborhood cleanup (June and November).
Starting that morning, volunteers cleaned the sidewalk in front of the IPS Head Office. Twelve people (including six IPS employees), including the chairperson of the neighborhood association, participated in the cleanup. The volunteers removed fallen leaves and weeds from street trees and picked trash out of the shrubbery.

As a member of the local community, IHI Power Systems Co., Ltd. will continue to actively participate in community-based activities.
