GX Training Implemented to Support the Realization of Carbon Neutrality

In fiscal year 2025, the IHI Group introduced “GX navi®,” a GX (Green Transformation) talent development service, as part of initiatives to strengthen employee education toward achieving carbon neutrality. This program was deployed to 108 employees across the Group. “GX navi®,” provided by DIGITAL GRID Corporation, is an e-learning platform that allows users to study GX and decarbonization-related topics via computers and smartphones.
The IHI Group aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2050. As part of this goal, the Group has set a target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2), which are directly and indirectly emitted from works and offices through business activities, by 50% compared to fiscal year 2019 levels by fiscal year 2030. To achieve this target, enhancing employees’ knowledge and raising awareness are essential. For this reason, the Group recognized the importance of strengthening educational initiatives and proceeded with the introduction of this program.

Prior to the full rollout, members of management and GX leaders first completed the program to verify its effectiveness, after which it was deployed to employees. Despite covering specialized topics, the program was well received for its structure, which allows users to learn progressively in manageable units.

Participants commented that they were able to “understand the background and social trends driving GX,” “learn comprehensively about energy conservation and decarbonization and apply this knowledge in daily work,” and “study efficiently during commuting time or short breaks, making it easy to continue learning.”

The IHI Group will continue to promote educational and awareness initiatives, enhance employees’ environmental consciousness, and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
