DUAL Fuel System
About the DUAL Fuel System
The gas turbine power plant which has the capability of both normal operation and emergency operation has the advantages to cut down on initial capital cost and to reduce intallation space dramatically, because customer does not need to implement both power plant system for normal operation and power plant system for emergency operation, individually.
Most of customers who has a plan to implement the power plant system used city gas (natural gas) as gaseous fuel for both normal operation and emergency operation always asks IHI whether IHI gas turbine power plant can be used kerosene as liquid fuel for emergency operation or not.
IHI developed DUAL fuel system technology to correspond to both gaseous fuels and liquid fuels in single gas turbine engine, and commercialized DUAL fuel type gas turbine as IM270 series model.
Advantages of the DUAL Fuel System
The dual fuel system eanbles to switch the operation mode (fuel mode) to change over between Normal Operation (with gas fuel) and Emergency Operation (kerosene fuel) without the gas turbine to be stopped. This advantege allows provide the necessary amount of electricity which customer need without interruption.
