IHI Corporation Vehicular Turbocharger

IHI "Oil-free Electric Turbocharger for Fuel Cell Vehicles" has received the 2020 Technology Award from the Turbomachinery Society of Japan. The award was established in 1983 as an award for excellent technology with the aim of encouraging the development of technology related to turbomachinery. This award has been given in recognition of the world's first productization and commercialization of an electric turbocharger (ETC) with a turbine in the air supply system for fuel cell systems. IHI will continue to contribute to improving the efficiency of fuel cell systems and aim to realize a carbon-neutral society.

IHI received the presentation of "Certificate of Appreciation (Best Partner) 2022" from Suzuki.
"Best Partner" is awarded to an excellent business partner that has contributed extensively in various fields as a partner for Suzuki's "making valuable products". In fiscal 2022, IHI was highly evaluated for our ability to keep up with the large fluctuations in production due to semiconductor shortages and the impact of COVID-19.
IHI will continue to take measures to contribute to the further development of Suzuki.

After over 60 years since its founding in 1959, IHI has achieved 100 million units of turbo sales.
We would like to thank to all of you that we have been able to manufacture and sell turbochargers that are installed in various types of vehicles, from compact cars to buses and trucks. We would like to express my sincere gratitude.
Currently, in addition to manufacturing existing turbos, IHI is advancing to a new stage, such as developing turbos for hybrid engines and for fuel cells Electric Turbochargers combined with electric technology.
IHI will continue to consider improving environment and continue to create turbochargers that customers will choose. Please look forward to IHI's technology and wisdom in the future.

IHI received a supplier commendation (letter of appreciation) from Yanmar Global Experts for IHI's activities and contributions related to the stable supply of turbochargers in FY2022. The theme of the award was "adoption of new turbochargers and contribution to stable procurement", and two points in particular were highly evaluated. The first point is about the supply of turbochargers in 2022, which contributed to the stable supply of turbochargers in response to the rapid increase and decrease in engine production at customers due to undtable supply from shortages of semiconductors. The second point is that IHI worked with customers to integrate and organize the part numbers of older model turbochargers and to propose and develop alternative models for the purpose of further stable supply. The customer appreciate that these measures have contributed to the stable production and extension of the model life of our customers' engines.
IHI will continue to take measures to contribute to the continuous development of internal combustion engine manufacturing, which is Yanmar Group's main business.

IHI is sponsoring Toyota’s activities of “making ever-better motorsports-bred cars” and “pursuing activities to enhance the appeal and sustainability of motorsports”. Cars with IHI logos will participate in two symbolic races.

It was decided that IHI’s Electric Turbocharger will be installed in HyTruck fuel system of AVL, which is the world’s largest automotive powertrain engineering company.
We are pleased to inform you that our ETC-equipped AVL HyTruck suel system was exhibited for the first time at the German exhibition, and a press release has been issued.

We exhibited at the FC-EXPO2022 Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 16th to 18th, 2022.
We exhibited our self-confident electric turbocharger "e-Future for the earth" (registered trademark of our company) for fuel cell systems, and customers were able to see it up close.
Many important customers came to the booth, and it was a great success for three days.
