SS-520 Rocket #2 Launch Successful !!
The SS-520 Rocket, developed by the Institute of Space and Astronomical Science (JAXA) , was launched from Ny-Alesund, Spitsbergen Island, Norway, and the experiment was successful.
IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. took part in manufacturing this rocket, and also cooperated in the system analysis. In addition, two engineers from IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. participated in the ground operation activities at the scene. The rocket was launched toward the dark sky at 10:16 am, December 4, 2000 local time (6:16 pm JST)

IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. conducted ground firing test of The H-ⅡA Rocket Solid Rocket Booster (SRB-A) Qualification Motor #3 (QM3) at the Ground Combustion Test Facilities for Solid Rocket of the Takesaki launch site in the Tanegashima Space Center.

The Tomioka Rocket Festival of IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. was held at the Tomioka Plant. The festival was crowded with people coming from the surrounding communities despite the rainy weather.
