Launch of H-ⅡA Launch Vehicle No. 14
At 5:55 p.m. on February 23, 2008, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, LTD.(MHI) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration
Agency (JAXA) launched the H-ⅡA Launch Vehicle No.14 (H-ⅡA F14) successfully from the Tanegashima
Space Center in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan.
The H-ⅡA F14 inserted the Wideband InterNetworking
and Demonstration Satellite "KIZUNA" into planned orbit. We, at IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. were
responsible for the development and manufacture of the solid rocket boosters (SRB-As), the pyrotechnics
for the separation of rocket stages, and the 2nd stage reaction control gas jets, and we also supported
the launch at Tanegashima Space Center.
Furthermore for this mission we developed and manufactured
the satellite propulsion system as well, and it is hoped that this system will contribute towards the successful
accomplishment of the mission.
