In order to realize the philosophy, we identify the technologies required to solve social issues and integrate the technologies to create new value. In the current social environment that changes rapidly and has complex challenges, we propose new value considering throuout the value chain in closer collaboration with various partners, including companies, universities and research institutions.

IHI Engineering Review, a public relations journal focusing on the technologies of the IHI Group, shares its technology and business development activities globally. The creation of new value in a rapidly changing society requires technology development in a way that transcends existing frameworks. This issue introduces some of our development activities in various fields: innovative technology development in the aero engine and marine fields, the development of a safety system that integrates our existing technologies with AI, the development of a tool to improve productivity, and the reduction of development time through MBSE. We are pleased to share the frontiers of the IHI Group’s technology development through this issue.
